Emma Stone made history on Saturday Night Live this weekend as the youngest member of the Five-Timers Club, after hosting the show for the fifth time in 13 years. While she didn’t receive the star-studded reception that John Mulaney did last year, she did receive a special welcome into SNL “herstory” during her monologue.
During her monologue, Stone emphasized that she practically grew up on the show, hosting for the first time in her early twenties before meeting her husband, Dave McCary, at SNL. As she expressed her love for her husband, Lorne Michaels unexpectedly appeared on the screen.
Throughout the monologue, Stone was joined on stage by Tina Fey and Candice Bergen, two of only five other women who have reached the same hosting milestone. Bergen shared details about the special “women’s section” she created in the Five-Timers Club clubhouse, including humorous anecdotes about the space.
To commemorate Stone’s achievement, she was given a Five-Timers jacket, in which she found a joint and a vaccine card, leading to lighthearted jokes from Fey and Bergen.
