Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins Sidelined After Injuring Finger in Car Door Accident

When it comes to NBA players, even they aren’t immune to everyday accidents like slamming a finger or a hand in a car door. However, for Golden State Warriors wing Andrew Wiggins, this kind of mishap actually caused him to miss a game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Apparently, Wiggins injured his right index finger after slamming it in his car door in the morning, as confirmed by Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters before the game.

Reportedly, Wiggins took part in the Warriors’ shootaround to assess the damage to his finger, but ultimately decided not to play. However, Kerr assured everyone that the injury was not a major concern and was only short-term.

For the Warriors, it has been a challenging season, with the team struggling with a record of 8-10 and not participating in the NBA’s in-season tournament. To make matters worse, the team also lost two crucial players in a recent game against the Sacramento Kings. Both Chris Paul and Gary Payton II were unable to play in the game against the Clippers due to injuries. Wiggins himself has also been struggling this season, experiencing career lows in various statistical categories such as points per game, assists, steals, field-goal percentage, 3-point percentage, and minutes played.
