Sharing a difficult health update, Shannen Doherty reveals that her Stage 4 cancer has spread to her bones. Despite the challenges, she remains optimistic, stating, “I’m not done yet.”
In a recent Instagram video, the 52-year-old actress, best known for her roles in Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed, expressed hope and determination, saying, “We’re on a really good regiment right now and it’s working well for me, so day by day, month by month, year by year.”
Further elaborating in an exclusive interview with People, Doherty shared her unwavering determination to keep moving forward, stating, “I don’t want to die. I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better. I’m just not — I’m not done.”
Doherty was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. After successful treatment, she went into remission by 2017. However, in a 2020 Good Morning America interview, she disclosed that her cancer had returned as Stage 4 and later revealed in June that it had spread to her brain.
Launching her memoir-style podcast Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty on iHeartRadio on December 6, the actress will reflect on her career in TV and film, her eight-year cancer battle, and more.
Looking ahead, Doherty holds onto hope, expressing, “My greatest memory is yet to come. I pray. I wake up and go to bed thanking God, praying for the things that matter to me without asking for too much. It connects me to a higher power and spirituality. My faith is my mantra.”
