On November 25, Ada City Manager Cody Holcomb announced his retirement from the city, effective December 31.
In a recent press release, the city of Ada praised Holcomb’s “distinguished career” with the city, highlighting his various achievements over the years.
Holcomb initially joined the city of Ada as city engineer and public works director in 2008, eventually moving on to serve as assistant city manager before assuming the role of city manager in 2012.
Throughout his tenure, Holcomb spearheaded numerous initiatives, including a comprehensive street improvement program, water supply infrastructure rebuilding, and the development of various city facilities and amenities. He played a key role in securing Proposition One, which aimed to improve streets and infrastructure through a permanent tax, as well as attracting retail and commercial developments to Ada.
Ada Mayor Randy McFarlin commended Holcomb’s leadership and the city’s growth under his guidance, expressing well wishes for Holcomb’s future endeavors.
Aside from managing regular city budgets, Holcomb has been heavily involved in planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of up to $200 million worth of capital development and projects for the city. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from the University of Central Oklahoma. Holcomb is also a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma and has served on the board for the Oklahoma Municipal League.
In a statement, Holcomb expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Ada community, emphasizing the personal and professional growth he experienced during his time with the city.
