Recently, it was reported that Samsung is set to introduce the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024, a month earlier than usual. More details about the Galaxy S24’s announcement, pre-order, and shipping dates have been revealed.
Galaxy S24 Launch Date, Pre-Order, and Availability
The Galaxy S24 is expected to be announced on January 17, 2024, in San Jose, California, USA, according to a report from The Elec. Unlike previous years, the Galaxy Unpacked event for the Galaxy S24 is likely to take place in Apple’s own backyard. Pre-orders for the Galaxy S24 series will begin on January 18 (January 19 in South Korea due to the time difference), and pre-ordered devices are scheduled to start shipping from January 26 to January 30. The Galaxy S24 will be available for purchase to the general public starting January 30, 2024.
As for pricing, details for the Galaxy S24 series are still under wraps, but it is anticipated that Samsung will maintain similar pricing to the Galaxy S23 series, with the Galaxy S24 starting at $900, and the Galaxy S24+ and S24 Ultra likely to be priced at $1,000 and $1,200, respectively. Earlier reports suggested that the Galaxy S24 will be Samsung’s first AI Phone, incorporating the company’s in-house developed AI features. The company also teased a new AI feature, real-time language transliteration during calls, hinting at a potential rebranding of Bixby to Galaxy AI.
San Francisco (USA) and Seoul (South Korea) were considered as potential launch event locations, with Samsung finally deciding on San Jose due to strategic collaboration with Google and competitive considerations with Apple. The decision to launch two weeks ahead of the usual time frame is a move to bolster first-quarter revenue. Samsung appears to have settled on a timeline where sales peak in Q1 and Q3 each year, thanks to the launch of Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series phones.
The phone will debut with Android 14-based One UI 6 onboard, with an in-depth video showcasing some of its features available below.
