DETROIT —
Ex-Bear David Montgomery’s decisive 1-yard touchdown led the Detroit Lions to a remarkable 31-26 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Despite overcoming four turnovers and a 12-point deficit, the NFC North-leading Lions (8-2) secured their best 10-game record since 1962.
The Bears (3-8) had a shot at victory, but missed the chance to string consecutive wins together for nearly two years.
Fields made a strong comeback, fumbling only on the last snap of the game. He unleashed a 39-yard touchdown pass to DJ Moore, contributing to the Bears’ 26-14 lead in the fourth quarter.
Goff turned things around after a rocky start, completing 23 of 35 passes for 236 yards, securing a vital win for the Lions.
FACES IN THE CROWD
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was present at the game and was met with an outburst of boos from the crowd.
INJURIES
The Bears’ D’Onta Foreman and Lucas Patrick, along with the Lions’ Jonah Jackson, struggled through injuries during the game.
WHAT’S NEXT
The Bears are set to play in Minnesota on Monday, November 27, while the Lions will host Green Bay on Thursday.
