Authorities in Alabama are currently investigating a harrowing incident on a highway that resulted in four individuals sustaining injuries. The Birmingham Police Department received numerous reports at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, regarding a shootout on Interstate 59.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered two vehicles that had been riddled with bullets, as depicted in a video uploaded on the department’s Facebook page. The scene revealed two gunshot victims, who were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. In a separate turn of events, two other individuals with gunshot wounds sought medical attention at a hospital. Fortunately, their injuries were not classified as life-threatening.
Authorities speculate that one of the vehicles had been tailing the other, believing it to be their stolen car. “We believe a group saw their possible stolen vehicle and began following it. This vehicle was allegedly taken in a neighboring city,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald disclosed in the video.
Tragically, a confrontation erupted on the highway, leading to a violent shootout. Officer Fitzgerald asserted that all four individuals involved in the altercation sustained gunshot wounds, and none of the bystanders were harmed in the crossfire.
