“Ultraman: Rising” Follows Iconic Hero’s Journey to Netflix
Set to debut in 2024, Netflix has unveiled the first teaser for the upcoming CG-animated film “Ultraman: Rising.” The movie will bring to life the beloved character, captivating audiences with thrilling visuals and a compelling storyline.
Based on characters from Eiji Tsuburaya, best known for co-creating the “Godzilla” franchise, “Ultraman: Rising” delves into the journey of baseball star Ken Sato as he returns to Japan and assumes the role of Ultraman. Unexpectedly, he finds himself tasked with raising a baby kaiju monster, blurring the lines between hero and enemy, while also addressing his own family dynamics and challenges posed by the Kaiju Defense Force.
Exclusive Collaboration and Stellar Team
Teaming up with Tsuburaya Productions, Netflix has marked the latest collaboration, following their successful partnership on the “Ultraman” animated series. Directed by Shannon Tindle, known for his work on acclaimed hits like “Coraline” and “Kubo and the Two Strings,” and co-directed by John Aoshima, the film promises a captivating blend of storytelling and animation. With the screenplay from Tindle and Marc Haimes, the production is led by Tom Knott as producer and Lisa Poole as co-producer.
