Disturbing Encounter: Man Allegedly Threatens 6-year-old over Misplaced Halloween Treat Bag

A shocking incident occurred in New York when a man aimed a gun at a 6-year-old boy who had mistakenly dropped off a Halloween goody bag at the wrong house and went back to retrieve it. Police have identified the suspect as Michael Yifan Wen, a 43-year-old resident of Manhasset. Wen has been arrested and charged with menacing and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, according to a statement released by the Nassau County police.

The incident took place on Saturday when a mother drove her daughter, two sons, and a nephew to a residence on Rockcrest Road. The 10-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son rang the doorbell and left the goody bag on the porch for their friend. However, realizing that they might have gotten the address wrong, they drove back to the house. It was during this time that the boy approached the porch to retrieve the goody bag when the man suddenly opened the door and held a gun to his head. It’s important to note that no attorney has been listed for Wen and attempts to contact him for a statement have been unsuccessful so far.

Authorities later confirmed that the house was indeed the wrong address. Unfortunately, this is not the first instance of people unintentionally entering the wrong home and encountering tragic consequences. It serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance and caution in our communities.
