Update: The eagerly anticipated iOS 17.2 public beta version is now available only a day after its original release date.
Apple recently unveiled its latest innovation to developers with the release of the highly-anticipated iOS 17.2 beta. This new version is equipped with Apple’s unreleased features, including the Journal app and Tapback reaction updates in Messages.
Alongside the iOS 17.2 beta 1, Apple has also rolled out beta versions for watchOS 10.2, macOS 14.2 Sonoma, tvOS 17.2, and HomePod 17.2. All of these updates aim to provide users with the most cutting-edge features and improvements.
Apple initially showcased the Journal app at WWDC 2023 and has confirmed its release later this year. This app encompasses the following features:
- Utilizes on-device machine learning for personalized journaling suggestions, along with the Suggestions API for other apps
- Includes the ability to incorporate photos, workouts, and interactions as prompts
- Allows users to mark entries as important for enhanced visibility
- Offers writing inspirations through a variety of prompts
- Ensures privacy with end-to-end encryption and the option to lock the journal
