Fans were left in shock when Cassie Randolph made the surprising decision to leave Colton’s season of The Bachelor. But Colton didn’t let her departure go unanswered – he shocked everyone by impulsively bounding over a fence and chasing after Cassie, despite still having two other women vying for his heart.
While Cassie and Colton didn’t get engaged, they remained a couple until their relationship came to an end in May 2020. However, their breakup took a more tumultuous turn when Cassie filed for a temporary restraining order against Colton in September. In court documents obtained by E! News, Cassie detailed allegations of stalking and harassment, including unsettling text messages, incessant phone calls, and even the placement of a tracking device on her vehicle. The restraining order was initially granted and later extended until November when Cassie dropped her petition.
Reflecting on this challenging period of his life, Colton told Us Weekly, “I believe that was a significant wake-up call. It’s disheartening to think that it had to reach such an extreme point for me to realize the impact I was having on those around me and for me to finally embrace my truth.”
In April 2021, the former Bachelor star made a groundbreaking announcement – he publicly came out as gay during an interview on Good Morning America. He shared, “I spent a long time running from myself and despising who I am. Earlier this year, I came to terms with the fact that I am gay and have been going through the process of accepting my true identity.”
Looking towards the future, Colton found love once again and in May 2023, he exchanged vows with his partner, Jordan C. Brown.
