Improved Chemistry and Late-Night Practices: Zaza Pachulia Confirms Reformed Connection Among Warriors’ Roster
Since adding Chris Paul to their lineup in June, the Golden State Warriors have experienced a significant improvement in team chemistry compared to the previous NBA season. In an interview with Matt Steinmetz and Daryle Johnson on 95.7 The Game, former Warriors center and current front office consultant, Zaza Pachulia, shared an exclusive story that highlights the team’s reformed connection.
Pachulia recalled a moment before training camp when he stumbled upon a late-night practice at Chase Center. He had left his car there after a dinner in the city and returned to find a bouncing ball. To his surprise, Pachulia discovered Stephen Curry, Chris Paul, and Moses Moody shooting hoops together at 9:15 p.m.
“You know what? That’s it. You feel the energy. Feel the connection. That’s something super important, by the way. Super important.”
As a two-time champion who witnessed the chemistry issues during the Kevin Durant era, Pachulia understands the significance of team cohesion in pursuit of a title. However, his recent encounter convinced him that the Warriors are on a better path this season, investing extra effort on and off the court.
Pachulia expressed his admiration for the scene he witnessed, emphasizing the presence of Curry, the new addition Paul, and the young talent Moody. He highlighted their commitment to early morning workouts and their subsequent evening shooting session. This experience leaves Pachulia feeling optimistic about the Warriors’ prospects for the upcoming season.
With a roster comprising of experienced leaders, Golden State has every reason to be excited about the season. Additionally, their 4-1 record during the NBA preseason indicates their readiness for their first regular-season game against the Phoenix Suns at Chase Center.
