Exciting Updates: Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Surprises Fans with Exclusion of Hideo Kojima in New Credits

Hideo Kojima’s absence in the new credits for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 1 has raised eyebrows.

Kojima, who had a falling out with Konami during the development of Metal Gear Solid 5 and subsequently severed ties with the publisher, is noticeably missing from the credits of the new collection.

Instead, the credits of the collection simply express gratitude to “all original Metal Gear series staff and fans.”

This confirmation has come from numerous players who have obtained advance copies of the game and are streaming it on Twitch.

While Kojima’s name still appears in the games themselves, as they are essentially ports of the original games with minimal changes, the wrappers for each game, which include their own credits screens, do not mention Kojima, David Hayter, or the rest of the cast.

As reported previously, the game indirectly references Kojima through a warning message that appears when the compilation is loaded.

“This game contains expressions and themes that may be considered outdated,” the disclaimer reportedly states.

“However, these elements have been included without alteration to preserve the historical context in which the game was made and the creator’s original vision. Player discretion is advised.”

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 1 will be available on October 24 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam.

The collection features the first three Metal Gear Solid games, along with the original MSX2 versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, as well as the NES games Metal Gear and Snake’s Revenge.

It also includes additional content such as digital graphic novels, screenplay books, master books with story and character information, strategy guides for each game, and a digital soundtrack.
