Captivating Fire Show: Wanted Suspect’s Vehicle Engulfs in Flames Post County-Line Police Chase

A vehicle burst into flames following a dramatic multi-county pursuit led by an armed and wanted suspect.

Gaston County Police attempted to apprehend Jaiquvous Williams at his residence in Gastonia for outstanding warrants. However, upon discovering that he was armed, Williams quickly fled.

During the chase, witnessed by a motorist driving down Wilkinson Boulevard at approximately 1:40 a.m., several Gaston County and Charlotte Mecklenburg police vehicles followed the suspect’s car.

According to the witness, the suspect’s vehicle hit a curb, launched through a fence, rolled on top of other cars, and eventually caught fire.

Channel 9’s photojournalist, Coleman Montgomery, was the first at the scene and captured footage of law enforcement’s efforts to extinguish the flames.

Gaston County Police Department successfully deployed tire-deflation devices along Woodlawn Road in an attempt to stop Williams. However, he managed to evade capture, and the chase was terminated at around 1:36 a.m.

A short while later, approximately seven miles away, law enforcement discovered Williams’ wrecked vehicle in the parking lot of AUTOMAX Lube & Tune and Brakes. Notably, large quantities of Fentanyl were found inside.

According to authorities, Williams fled the scene on foot and is currently still at large.

The Gaston County Fugitive Apprehension and Suspect Tracking team (FAST) is actively searching for Williams.





As a result of this incident, Williams faces additional charges for Felonious Possession of a Firearm and Felony Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

No injuries were reported, and no individuals were transported for medical treatment following the crash.
