Unwavering Confidence: Andretti Remains Determined for F1 Entry in 2025

Michael Andretti remains determined to enter Formula One in 2025, despite facing opposition from rival teams. He has already prepared a car for testing.

As a former F1 racer and the son of 1978 world champion Mario Andretti, Michael believes that his arrival in the sport would be beneficial. He finds it puzzling why the existing 10 teams are opposed to his team, backed by General Motors’ Cadillac brand, becoming the 11th.

Andretti’s application has been approved by the governing FIA, and it is now being sent to Liberty Media-owned Formula One Management (FOM) for commercial discussions. This process may take some time.

“We’re still shooting for ’25,” said Andretti. “Our car is actually going to be in the wind tunnel next week, so we have a car already built up in ’23 spec, so we’re flat out. We’re building a team.

“At the moment it’s ’25, it could be ’26, but we’ll see.”

Andretti had previously reached an agreement with Alpine for an engine, but the deal has since lapsed. However, he remains confident that the issue will be resolved once he receives approval for his team.

Despite the resistance from other teams, Andretti finds it perplexing why they are pushing back. He believes that his team will ultimately bring in more support and revenue rather than dilute it.

According to Andretti, there are enough sponsors interested in his team, and he believes that his presence can help boost the sport in the United States.

During a press conference, four team bosses denied having a personal grudge against Andretti. They emphasized that their resistance is not personal, but rather based on the concern for the financial aspects of the sport.

Overall, Andretti’s entry into Formula One has sparked intrigue and debate among fans and experts alike.
