A Redditor in the Windows 11 subreddit recently asked fellow users to compile a list of useful features for Copilot, the highly anticipated Windows AI tool. Interestingly, the top comment revealed that Copilot’s capabilities were somewhat limited.
According to the comment, Copilot could successfully perform tasks such as opening apps, toggling light and dark modes, and initiating focus sessions. However, it fell short when it came to tasks like closing apps, searching within documents or emails, installing apps, and customizing desktop or taskbar settings. In fact, even files generated by Copilot were off-limits.
Another Redditor claimed to have discovered Copilot’s internal functions, listing several tasks that the AI tool could handle. These included searching the web, generating AI art, adjusting audio volume, launching apps, screencasting, troubleshooting, accessing the device manager, muting audio, enabling Bluetooth, changing desktop color themes, activating “do not disturb” mode, setting volume and focus sessions, changing desktop wallpaper, and snapping windows.
All things considered, Copilot’s current capabilities appear to be limited. It will likely take some time before it can meet users’ expectations and fulfill all their Windows needs.
