Antonio Brown, the former NFL wide receiver, was arrested outside his home in Dania Beach, Florida, on Sunday. The arrest was made due to allegations of him failing to pay child support.
According to Wiltrice Jackson, the mother of Brown’s daughter, he owes nearly $31,000 to her. The warrant was filed by the Miami-Dade Police Department, and the Broward County Sheriff’s Department took Brown, who is 35 years old, into custody.
Brown was booked at around midnight but has been released on a $15,000 bond since then.
“I do want him arrested,” said Jackson in an interview with TMZ. “Because, right now, he’s making a mockery out of the judge, out of everything, because he feels like he’s untouchable.”
Jackson also mentioned that their 15-year-old daughter, Antanyiah, is a promising athlete, receiving interest from more than 80 schools for track and field, including Miami and powerhouse Oregon. She expressed her desire for Brown to play a more active role in their daughter’s life and provide support.
“By him having a daughter like an athlete like her, you would think he’d be in her corner to support her,” Jackson said.
In August, a judge ruled that Brown, who last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, had missed child support payments.
