Slovakia’s Patak Motors is now accepting orders for its electric roadster, which boasts a similar aesthetic to the limited-edition tribute to the Bugatti Type 35 that was announced in 2019. This “reinvention of the gentleman’s car” can reach speeds of up to 130 km/h and has a range of up to 250 km per charge.
“Our goal was to introduce a vehicle that combines modern driving capabilities with a unique retro design inspired by the 1930s,” said the company’s CEO, Andrej Hulala. “When you get behind the wheel of a Rodster, you’ll experience intense emotions. Whether you’re commuting, running errands, taking your child to school, or simply going on a weekend joyride, every drive will be truly enjoyable.”
This sporty electric two-seater, which has been in development since 2020, can be seen as a cross between a compact car and a motorcycle.
The classic roadster influence is evident in its spoked 19-inch alloy wheels with full fenders. The retro-style round LED headlights provide illumination on the road, while the bullet-shaped rear lights are accompanied by a central lighting strip where the curved body sides meet at the back. The vehicle offers the option of an open-top city drive or a model with a folding roof. Each door is equipped with a round mirror, and the high-style tri-spoke steering wheel is crafted from wood and metal. A wooden dashboard adds to the vintage feel.

The Rodster is equipped with a 15-kW motor, although a version with a single-cylinder 4-stroke gas engine is also planned. It can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in just seven seconds and has a top speed of 130 km/h. The floor houses either a 10-kWh or 20-kWh battery pack, providing a potential range of up to 250 km. Charging via a 230-V wall outlet may take around 4 hours, or drivers can utilize a Type 2 connection at a public charger. Regenerative braking also helps maximize battery range.
Other features include rack-and-pinion steering, comfortable retro seating with storage space behind, and a multi-function touchscreen display that can be equipped with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and a speaker system. Standard safety features include airbags, an immobilizer, ABS, power steering, traction control, a proprietary stabilization system, and a brake booster. Optional extras include rear parking sensors, a four-spoke steering wheel, designer tires, and a range of interior/exterior color choices.
