Taylor Swift Fans Under Fire for Disruptive Conduct During ‘Eras Tour’ Documentary – Unveiling Criticisms

  • Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” movie sparks debate on movie theater etiquette
  • Social media videos show chaotic behavior by Swifties during screenings
  • Swift and AMC actively encourage this behavior

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” concert film has arrived in theaters worldwide, igniting a discussion on proper movie theater behavior.

A viral video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by fan account @TheSwiftSociety, showcases Swifties crowding between the screen and seats in one theater, engaging in chaotic activities such as dancing, singing, and even falling to the floor in exhaustion and emotion.

This widely-viewed post, captioned “Swifties enjoying ‘The Eras Tour’ film in a cinema,” has faced criticism from individuals who believe the behavior displayed in the video exceeds what is deemed acceptable in movie theaters.

“This is so disrespectful,” commented one user on X. “If you want to do this, do it at home when it’s available digitally. But when you go to the cinema, you should respect others and not create such a spectacle.”

Another video captured similar scenes at a different showing, prompting a comment stating, “Acting like this at a concert is fine. But in the cinema, absolutely not.”

A separate video shared by @catchfireswift depicted fans reacting similarly at a screening in the UK, leading them to request a refund from the theater chain in a subsequent post.

Moreover, recording in the theater is illegal, and shining phone torches during Swift’s ballads obstructs others’ view.

On TikTok, creator Francis Dominic shared a video from his experience at an AMC theater, where he and other fans danced and sang along with the movie. This video also divided fans, but Dominic defended their behavior, stating they would not do this during an opening weekend or early show.

The debate over appropriate behavior seems to stem from Swift herself and AMC, who, in their guidelines specifically created for “Eras Tour” movie attendees, encourage dancing and singing but prohibit dancing on seats or obstructing others’ view.

Regarding phone use, audiences are allowed to take selfies and group photos but are prohibited from recording the concert film.
