David Epstein, a 70-year-old from Oakland, California, met his wife Jackie, 28, while visiting the Philippines. The duo maintains a joint TikTok account, @dave_jackie2818, and has garnered nearly 50,000 followers. Their content features affectionate moments and dance videos, which have become popular with fans.
Despite their happiness, the couple faces criticism from skeptics who doubt the sincerity of their relationship. Many TikTok fans question Jackie’s intentions, accusing her of marrying David for a ‘green card’. Comments include suggestions such as ‘You should’ve picked an old lady at the bingo hall’ and speculations about Jackie’s motives. However, Jackie remains unfazed by the accusations and defends herself on platforms such as YouTube.
In an interview with the YouTube channel Love Don’t Judge, Jackie addressed the rumors, stating, ‘So many people label him as my sugar daddy, calling me a green card digger, a gold digger. But I’m not affected because it’s untrue. I know who I am, and I know I’m not a gold digger.’ Fortunately, Jackie’s family and friends are supportive of their union, which brings her reassurance and happiness.
The couple’s love story began on the dating website Cherry Blossoms, where David actively sought to meet Philippine and Asian women online. When he discovered Jackie’s profile, he was immediately captivated and couldn’t contain his excitement. After only six months of dating, David proposed to Jackie. Reflecting on their whirlwind romance, David shared, ‘We met while I was in the Philippines, using a dating site. When I saw her profile, I was blown away. I knew she was special.’
Discussing their wedding, Jackie expressed the joy it brought her, calling it the best day of her life. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, her parents and siblings weren’t able to attend. Jackie admitted that she didn’t review David’s profile before their initial meeting and had no idea what he looked like. However, she could tell he was a true gentleman and genuinely kind-hearted.
Eleven months after their engagement, Jackie received her Visa, and the couple made the decision to reside in the United States. While Jackie now works at a local drugstore in California, she ensures to visit her family in the Philippines annually, providing them with financial support.
