Oct. 11 (UPI) — Kirk Cousins and Gardner Minshew are among UPI senior sports writer Alex Butler’s four must-start fantasy football quarterbacks for Week 6.
Prepare for Week 6 with my running back, tight end, and wide receiver rankings, as well as waiver wire additions. I will continue to update my positional rankings to account for any developments, including injuries.
Leading my Top 20 quarterback rankings is Justin Fields. Joining Cousins and Minshew as must-start plays are Tua Tagovailoa and Trevor Lawrence. Additionally, there are several streaming options available within these rankings.
Keep in mind that quarterbacks Jordan Love and Kenny Pickett have bye weeks in Week 6, so they should be left out of starting lineups. Anthony Richardson of the Indianapolis Colts, who is on injured reserve, should also be benched or dropped.

Tua Tagovailoa
Tua Tagovailoa leads the NFL with 1,614 passing yards and is tied for second with 11 touchdown passes through five weeks. As the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, Tagovailoa continues to provide high-end fantasy football QB1 value due to the exceptional talent surrounding him at wide receiver and running back.
Tagovailoa has achieved at least 300 passing yards and two touchdowns in three of his five games this season. I anticipate similar statistics when the Dolphins face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The Dolphins may rely more on passing without star rookie running back De’Von Achane, resulting in one of Tagovailoa’s best performances of the season.
Although the Panthers have allowed the fifth-fewest passing yards in the NFL thus far, they recently gave up 236 yards and three touchdowns to Jared Goff and allowed Cousins to throw for two touchdowns the previous week. Expect Tagovailoa to have a field day against this defense in a Dolphins blowout. He is my No. 3 option.

Kirk Cousins
Similar to Tagovailoa, Kirk Cousins has been a prolific passer this season. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback leads the NFL in passing completions, attempts, and touchdown passes with 13. He is also averaging around 300 passing yards per game.
Despite a recent hamstring injury to star wide receiver Justin Jefferson, I believe the Vikings’ other pass catchers possess enough talent to support Cousins and deliver QB1 value in Week 6 against the struggling Chicago Bears defense.
Cousins has thrown for over 340 yards in three games this season and has recorded at least two touchdown passes in every appearance. The Bears have allowed the most fantasy points, passing yards (1,476), and second-most touchdown passes (12) to quarterbacks during the first five weeks.
Anticipate Cousins attempting at least 44 passes for the fifth time this season in what is expected to be a high-scoring matchup. I predict he will throw for at least 325 yards and two touchdowns against a defense that just gave up 388 yards to Sam Howell. Cousins is my No. 7 option.

Trevor Lawrence
Trevor Lawrence holds the No. 9 spot in my rankings. The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback threw for a season-high 315 yards in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills. Now, he will face an Indianapolis Colts defense that has allowed the second-most passing yards (1,410) to quarterbacks in the first five weeks.
Although Lawrence has only recorded one multiple-touchdown game so far, I expect this to be his second. He is highly likely to throw for at least 275 yards and two touchdowns.

Gardner Minshew
Gardner Minshew is not someone you would typically start on a regular basis, but he holds streaming value in Week 6. The veteran quarterback will make his second start this season for the Indianapolis Colts due to Anthony
