Let’s play a game. Don’t worry, the rules aren’t difficult to understand—it’s a game for kids. In the classic board game “Guess Who?”, two players ask a series of yes-or-no questions to determine which character their opponent is thinking of from a set of options.
“Does your character have long hair?”
“Yes.”
Flip flip flip, all the characters with shoulder-length hair or shorter, they’re not it. They are not “who,” not today.
“Does your character have makeup on?”
“No.”
Flip—wait, Pamela Anderson, what are you doing here? Don’t you usually wear a full face of makeup? Not today!
Anderson, who has been known in the past for her glamorous beauty with smoky eye makeup, teased hair, and a Baywatch silhouette, has recently embraced a makeup-free look. She showed up at a Paris Fashion Week Isabel Marant show on September 28 without any makeup on.
Jamie Lee Curtis was amazed by Anderson’s low-key appearance, as seen in an Instagram post she shared on Monday. The post showed Anderson sitting front-row at the show in a yellow gown, makeup-free, with her hair styled in waves.
“THE NATURAL BEAUTY REVOLUTION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!” Curtis exclaimed in the caption.

Curtis praised Anderson’s act of courage and rebellion in her Instagram post.
“@pamelaanderson, in the middle of fashion week with so many pressures and expectations, showed up and confidently took a seat at the table with no makeup on,” Curtis wrote.
Other celebrities, like Chelsea Handler, who described it as “pretty iconic” in a comment on the Instagram post, agreed. Selma Blair wrote, “Love this. Beautiful self-assuredness.”
On the other hand, The Mindy Project costume designer Salvador Perez pointed out in another comment that it’s uncomfortable to label showing your face as “brave.”
In August, Anderson mentioned feeling “a little rebellious” about going out without makeup lately. After her makeup artist Alexis Vogel passed away from cancer in 2019, Anderson started embracing a more natural look. She has also been sharing her life story through a memoir and documentary, where she discusses her journey of self-acceptance and embracing her true self.
“I noticed that everyone was doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the norm and do the opposite,” Anderson said. “I think we all start looking a little odd as we get older. And when I look in the mirror, I laugh and think, ‘Wow, what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey.”
