Vendors who attended this year’s fair expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to relocate to New Orleans in January. They anticipate challenges in garnering press coverage and expect international attendees to face difficulties booking non-stop flights. Despite these concerns, the Toy Association has signed a three-year deal to host the fair in New Orleans, scheduling it between the end of hurricane season and Mardi Gras.
“Having it in New Orleans will hurt us because some buyers don’t want to go to New Orleans,” said Kev Kouyoumjian, founder of World Tech Toys.
