As the Lorraine Explains columnist and host of The Driving Podcast on Driving.ca, Lorraine has established herself as a trusted voice. Her experience began in 2003 with The Motherlode column in the Hamilton Spectator, and she expanded into automotive journalism in 2005. She has worked with prestigious publications such as The Toronto Star and The Globe & Mail before joining Driving.ca in 2014. In 2021, she started hosting The Driving Podcast and also led The Lemon Aid Car Show for seven years. Lorraine has been a member of AJAC since 2013.
Throughout her career, Lorraine has embarked on thrilling adventures, including driving Smart cars in the Yukon winter, participating in the Gazelle Rally in Morocco, off-roading in Argentina, RVing across Canada, hypermiling across the country, and twice traveling Route 66. Now, she dedicates her writing to consumer advocacy.
Lorraine’s expertise extends to the airwaves, where she is a prominent voice on radio stations nationwide. Additionally, she released her debut novel, A Face in the Window, in July 2023.
She holds an English degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, adding to her comprehensive knowledge base.
