Three individuals were apprehended on Wednesday following an armed robbery at a convenience store in an unincorporated area of Green Acres, as confirmed by authorities.
Deputies swiftly responded to the incident location on East Highway 74 shortly after 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday. At least two male suspects, armed with a handgun, alarmed the clerk and demanded money, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
After successfully grabbing the stolen money, the suspects escaped in a white Toyota Corolla that had another suspect inside, as per sheriff’s officials.
Following a preliminary investigation, deputies located the suspect’s vehicle parked near Trumble Road and Highway 74 in Romoland. Subsequently, a “high-risk” traffic stop was conducted, resulting in detaining at least four occupants without any resistance. This information was reported by sheriff’s officials.
All four individuals were then interviewed by the Robbery Burglary Suppression Team at Perris station. Three of them were ultimately booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center, while one person was released.
Moreover, evidence connected to the crime was discovered inside the vehicle during further investigation. This evidence allegedly consisted of an unregistered Polymer 80 handgun and over $200 in cash, revealed sheriff’s officials.
The three arrested individuals were identified as 19-year-old Ruben Garcia from Hemet, as well as 21-year-old Detrell Woods and 28-year-old Antonio Olivares Jr., both residents of Los Angeles, according to sheriff’s officials.
Anyone who possesses information regarding this robbery is urged to contact Deputy Jimenez at 951-776-1099 or the sheriff’s Perris station at 951-210-1000.
