The Spectator Magazine’s Resilient UK Profit Surges Amid Promising Sales

The Spectator, a weekly magazine that has been in publication since 1828, has proven to be a profitable business, demonstrating resilience in challenging market conditions.

In 2022, the magazine reported a rise in UK earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to £4.8 million, compared to £4.4 million the previous year.

Furthermore, its revenues reached £20.8 million in the past year, a 2.5% increase from 2021.

The boost in revenue was primarily driven by non-subscription sales, such as income from events, broadcast media, and advertising, which grew by 13% in the same period.
