Two San Bernardino residents were arrested in connection with the theft of fragrances worth over $10,000 from a business in Riverside County. Authorities say that on Tuesday evening, two men entered the store with empty bags, filled them with perfume, and then fled in an unknown vehicle.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department received a report from an employee of the business just before 7:45 p.m. Deputies located the suspect vehicle, a blue sedan, just west of Date Palm on westbound Interstate 10 and attempted a traffic stop. However, the driver failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.
During the pursuit, the vehicle drove erratically at a high rate of speed and veered onto the freeway dirt shoulder. The chase came to an end when the vehicle collided with a tree approximately four miles east of Cabazon.
The passenger, 24-year-old Dalin Sasser, attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. The driver, 27-year-old Phillip Noble, was detained without incident. Stolen property from the business was recovered inside the suspect vehicle.
Both suspects will be booked into the John Benoit Detention Center. If you have any information about this case, please contact Deputy Barker at the Palm Desert sheriff’s station by calling 760-836-1600.
