Unexpectedly exhilarating experiences await park visitors, exceeding their expectations

Thrill-seekers at a Canadian amusement park had an unexpected adventure over the weekend. The ride they were on suddenly stopped, leaving them hanging upside down for almost 30 minutes. CP24 reports that this incident occurred at Canada’s Wonderland in Ontario on the Lumberjack ride. The ride consists of two axe-shaped pendulums that swing through 360-degree loops, reaching a height of 72 feet, as described by the Toronto Star.

According to the ride’s website description, the face-to-face seating allows guests to interact with each other and witness the fear on their friends’ faces as they go through the loops and change directions. The terror became a reality when the ride unexpectedly got stuck while inverted at around 10:40pm. There were approximately 45 people on board at the time, according to park spokesperson Grace Peacock, as reported by the Globe & Mail. While the maintenance crew worked on fixing the ride, the passengers remained mostly silent. The ride was eventually brought back down by 11:05pm.

The CBC highlights the experience of two young riders, 11-year-old Spencer Parkhouse and his 15-year-old sister, Mackenzie. They recounted the loss of sensation in their feet and how tears streamed back into their eyes during the 25-minute ordeal. Spencer recalls thinking, “When are we going to drop down? Are we ever going to drop down?” when the ride first got stuck. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. All guests were examined by first aid staff and allowed back into the park. Two riders who complained of chest pains received treatment at the park’s medical center and were later cleared. The park was closed on Sunday as investigations are underway.
