George Clooney’s magnificent Lake Como villa in northern Italy may have found a potential buyer. According to real estate agent Yasemin Baysal, owner of Engel & Volkers Lago di Como, an agency in Milan is closely monitoring the sale and has received calls from interested parties. Baysal revealed their agency is conducting necessary checks before submitting a possible offer.
Earlier this month, Page Six reported that Clooney, 62, is selling the estate for $107 million after owning it for 21 years. However, Clooney himself has denied these rumors. In a statement to The Post, he said, “The first I heard of it was when Page Six published the story. Everyone picked it up. It’s not true.”
Oggi, an Italian publication, reported “rumors” that Clooney’s wife, Amal, 45, prefers Provence. The couple recently purchased the Domaine du Canadel estate near Brignoles, France, in 2021. Clooney initially acquired the Lake Como property in 2002 from the Heinz family for approximately $10 million, and later expanded by purchasing an adjacent property. The Wall Street Journal reported last year that the villa’s value is estimated to be over $100 million, making it one of the largest private homes in the region.
The picturesque estate boasts 25 rooms and offers breathtaking views of Lake Como. With nearly 100,000 square feet of space, the property includes a vegetable garden, swimming pool, private gym, cinema room, basketball court, two docks, and a pier. The mayor of Laglio stated that real estate prices in the area nearly doubled after Clooney’s presence became known. Furthermore, the 18th-century estate holds special significance in the actor’s personal life, as it was at this villa where he met Amal in 2013.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Clooney shared his admiration for Amal, describing her as beautiful, funny, and intelligent. He recalled receiving a call from his agent who predicted that Amal would become his future wife. The couple tied the knot in 2014 and welcomed their twins, Ella and Alexander, in 2017.
