Angus Cloud, the 25-year-old co-star of the hit HBO drama series “Euphoria,” tragically passed away in July from an accidental drug overdose, according to a US coroner. The Alameda County Coroner’s office in California revealed that Cloud’s cause of death was a lethal combination of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and benzodiazepine. The overdose was ruled as accidental.
Cloud, known for his portrayal of laconic drug dealer Fezco “Fez” O’Neill in the critically acclaimed and award-winning series, had been struggling to cope with the recent passing of his father and had been dealing with ongoing mental health issues, as stated in a previous statement released by his family.
In their statement, Cloud’s family reflected on his battle with mental health and expressed hope that his passing would serve as a reminder to others that they are not alone in their struggles and should not suffer in silence. They mentioned how Angus and his father were best friends, finding solace in the fact that they are now reunited.
“Euphoria,” starring Zendaya, has become one of HBO’s most-watched series of all time. The show has received praise for its gritty and dark portrayal of the challenges faced by American teenagers today, including drug addiction and sexual violence.
Before landing his breakthrough role in “Euphoria,” Angus Cloud was discovered by a casting director while simply walking the streets of Brooklyn, New York with friends. The show marked Cloud’s first acting job.
The family requested privacy during this difficult time and expressed their hope that Angus would be remembered for his humor, laughter, and love for others.
