Australian Eurovision Star Danny Estrin Surfaces Cancer Diagnosis Amid Tour Postponement

Australian Eurovision Song Contest entrant Danny Estrin announced that his band, Voyager, will be postponing their European tour due to Estrin’s recent cancer diagnosis. Voyager, a five-piece rock band from Perth, had originally planned to perform five UK dates next month, but these shows will now be rescheduled for next year. The tour was set to include performances at Manchester’s Club Academy, Glasgow’s Slay, Liverpool’s O2 Academy 2, and two dates at London’s The Dome, all between October 20 and October 25.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Estrin shared the news of his diagnosis, stating, “Last week I received life-altering news: I’ve been diagnosed with cancer that requires immediate treatment. I am devastated that we won’t be able to go on our European tour, especially after the incredible year we’ve had with Eurovision. But my health must be the priority, and I must take this seriously to ensure a speedy recovery and a return to the stage.”

Estrin also announced that the tour will be rescheduled for October 2024, and fans who have purchased tickets can receive a refund if desired. Before beginning treatment, Estrin will perform a final show during the America’s Cup Event in Fremantle, Western Australia, on Sunday. He expressed his gratitude for the support he has already received and asked for privacy during this time to focus on his health and family.

Estrin did not disclose the specific type of cancer he has been diagnosed with.
