However, in a surprising turn of events, a software engineer named David Freedman has been crowned the world’s ultimate Apple superfan. SellCell, an international competition, revealed that David triumphed over 1,000 candidates with his impressive collection of over 100 Apple devices at his home in Kansas.

Valued at a whopping $36,000 (£29,035), David’s shrine includes a unique pair of glasses crafted by Steve Jobs’ former optician. His dedication to the tech giant goes even further, as he named his daughter Lisa after Apple co-founder Steve Jobs’ child.

Expressing his excitement, David said, “I’m extremely proud and humbled to bring the title to Apple’s home country. A lifetime of being called an ‘Apple Sheep’ has finally paid off.” He considers Apple to be more than just a company, describing it as a community and an ecosystem that significantly influences his life. Every time Apple CEO Tim Cook unveils a new product, it feels like Christmas morning to him.

David’s passion for Apple began when he was a teenager who wrote letters to Steve Jobs. He drew inspiration from stories of Jobs’ resourcefulness during high school when he called Bill Hewlett for spare electronic components. Not only did he receive the parts, but he also got an internship at Hewlett-Packard. David aspired to have a similar opportunity, but unfortunately, the replies from Steve’s PA were lost years ago. Nonetheless, he still treasures a few belongings that once belonged to Jobs.

At present, every room in David’s house is painted with the six colors from one of Apple’s original logos. Moreover, he has integrated Apple’s HomeKit technology into every door, fan, lock, camera, and TV in his home. He even uses Siri to open the garage and control the heating.

Notably, David dedicates a “religious holiday” from work whenever Apple makes an announcement or holds its annual September event. Speaking about his colorful home, he explains, “My house matches the six-color Apple logo which highlighted the graphics capabilities of the Apple II in 1977. While some friends and family expressed concern about reducing the resale value or the design’s aesthetics, I didn’t let that stop me from creating a home I’m proud of.”

Despite his pride in being named the ultimate Apple superfan, David acknowledges the challenges of finding a partner who shares his passion. He reveals, “I have a seven-year-old daughter named Elizabeth—shortened to Lisa—who shares her name with Steve Jobs’ daughter and the first computer Apple released with a graphical user interface.”
