New York, NY – On Friday, September 8, 2023, Christian Siriano celebrated 15 years in the fashion industry with a spectacular show during New York Fashion Week. The highlight of the event was a mesmerizing performance by the talented musician Sia, who left the runway dazzled with her incredible voice and presence.

In an exclusive backstage interview with The Associated Press, Siriano expressed his pride in the accomplishments of his brand and the impact it has made on people’s lives. “I feel really proud of everything we’ve done,” he said. “All the amazing people we’ve dressed and helped feel confident about themselves.”

As expected, longtime muse Coco Rocha graced the runway in a show-stopping ensemble. Dressed in a frothy pink ballet gown adorned with multicolored paillettes, Rocha captured everyone’s attention as her hair swung freely. Adding to the whimsical atmosphere, Sia made a surprise appearance behind a huge white wig topped with a pink bow.

Among the star-studded front row were famous names like Janet Jackson, Quinta Brunson, Kesha, Rosie Perez, Laura Linney, and Avril Lavigne, who eagerly embraced Siriano’s latest collection.

Siriano’s designs took inspiration from his early days, particularly his sister, a ballet dancer. He incorporated leotard- and tutu-inspired touches, as well as a touch of bold black to contrast with the array of sparklers. The collection featured gold-and-copper ombre ballgowns and suits, as well as sleek and mini party frocks with champagne-colored sleeves and necks.

To ensure inclusivity, Siriano also showcased his commitment to plus-size fashion by featuring plus-size models on the runway. Men’s fashion was not excluded from the show, with one male model rocking a strapless gold corset jumpsuit while another sported a black tutu skirt paired with a midriff tuxedo jacket.

Reflecting on his continued dedication to creating fashion fantasies, Siriano shared his passion for bringing excitement to the runway. “I still love the fantasy,” he admitted. “Maybe I wouldn’t do a show if it wasn’t exciting and fantasy for me. It’s a lot of money to just put some jeans and a T-shirt down the runway.”
