The price of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County experienced its biggest daily increase since October 1st, with a rise of 4.1 cents to $5.496 per gallon. This is the highest price recorded since November 14th.
According to data from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, the average price has increased 43 times in the past 48 days, totaling a 52.4-cent increase. On Friday alone, it rose by an additional 1.4 cents. It showed a consistent increase for 30 consecutive days, with only a slight drop on two occasions. It also showed a similar pattern of rising and dropping in the following days. There was no change on September 1st, but it has risen in seven of the past eight days.
Compared to a week ago, the average price is now 10.7 cents higher. It is also 33.1 cents higher than it was a month ago and 14.4 cents higher than it was one year ago. However, it has fallen by 99.8 cents since reaching a record high of $6.494 on October 5th.
In Orange County, the average price of gasoline also saw its largest daily increase since September 30th. It rose by 4.9 cents to $5.459 per gallon, reaching its highest price since November 1st. Over the past 47 days, the average price has risen 41 times, totaling an increase of 55.8 cents. On Friday alone, it rose by an additional 1.5 cents.
Compared to a week ago, the Orange County average price is now 12 cents higher. It is also 35.2 cents higher than it was a month ago and 15.1 cents higher than it was one year ago. However, it has dropped by $1 since reaching a record high of $6.459 on October 5th.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline rose by 1.5 cents to $3.823 per gallon. Compared to a week ago, it is slightly higher by eight-tenths of a cent. It is also 8.5 cents higher than it was one year ago, but two-tenths of a cent lower than it was a month ago. Since reaching a record high of $5.016 on June 14, 2022, it has dropped by $1.193.
