Passenger Records Path of Explosive Diarrhea Leading to Flight’s U-Turn

A passenger recorded a video showing the aftermath of a fellow passenger experiencing explosive diarrhea on a Delta Air Lines flight. The video has since gone viral on social media.

The flight, Delta Air Lines 194, was en route from Atlanta to Spain but had to turn back after the incident occurred in the cabin.

Xansby Swanson shared the incident on X (formerly known as Twitter), stating that his brother was on the flight and witnessed the unfortunate situation. Swanson’s post read, “Lil bro headed abroad rn but his plane had to go back to ATL an hour into the flight bc someone shit up and down the aisle.”

Swanson later shared a video that captured the scene inside the plane. The video showed a trail of feces running down the aisle, with stained and soggy paper towels scattered on the floor. It is important to note that Insider couldn’t independently verify the details of the passenger’s flight.

An aviation enthusiast also shared an audio transmission between the pilots and air-traffic control on X. The audio recording, taken from LiveATC.com, revealed the pilot discussing the situation. The pilot can be heard saying, “This is a biohazard issue. We’ve had a passenger who’s had diarrhea all the way through the airplane, so they want us to come back to Atlanta.”

A spokesperson for Delta Air Lines previously informed Insider that the plane had to be re-routed to Atlanta for cleaning due to a “medical issue” onboard. The representative expressed apologies for the delay and inconvenience caused to the passengers’ travel plans.

Neither Delta Air Lines nor Jackson (the person who shared the audio transmission) provided immediate comments when contacted by Insider outside of regular business hours.
