Sept. 5 (UPI) — In a bizarre incident, a bear with three legs managed to break into a Florida family’s enclosed porch, where it helped itself to three White Claws from their fridge. This peculiar occurrence left the family astounded by the bear’s audacity and taste preferences.
Josaury Faneite-Diglio, a resident of Lake Mary, recounted the incident which unfolded while her 13-year-old son, Joseph Diglio, was inside their home. It was their family dog’s incessant barking that alerted Joseph to the presence of a bear outside.
Both security camera footage and cellphone video captured by Joseph reveal the three-legged bear, referred to as Tripod by neighbors, forcefully breaking through the screen guarding the home’s lanai, an enclosed porch or veranda.
According to Faneite-Diglio, the bear indulged in some fish food placed next to their fish tank outside, before making its way to the bar. “He took three White Claws, drank, and left very happy. His favorite flavor is mango and strawberry,” she disclosed in an interview with WESH-TV.
Jospeh, witnessing the bear open the fridge, quickly ensured that the house was secured by locking all the doors, just in case Tripod decided to search for more enticing snacks.
The bear departed moments later, leaving behind only the stolen drinks and a screen with a gaping hole as evidence of its daring exploit. “I was not scared because we know the bear really well. He lives here; we respect their habitat as much as we can,” Faneite-Diglio remarked, reflecting on the incident.
