- Amply shared on social media were photos and videos of the couple dancing with Meghan’s mom.
- The couple complied with Beyoncé’s request that fans wear silver outfits to the concert.
According to The Telegraph, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour, an event they first met the star at four years ago.
On Friday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted in a private box at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, accompanied by Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland and two friends, as reported by The Telegraph’s Victoria Ward and George Styllis. One of the friends is believed to be Meghan’s former “Suits” costar Abigail Spencer, sources confirmed.
The group donned matching silver outfits in accordance with Beyoncé’s request for attendees to wear the color.
In one of The Telegraph’s photos, Meghan can be seen wearing a silver, sequinned pencil skirt and a white shirt, while Harry sports a silver-gray shirt and blazer.
Fans shared videos on social media of the group dancing to Beyoncé’s performance of “Love on Top.” One image shared on X showed Ragland in a silver blouse, and a woman believed to be Spencer wore a silver disco ball dress.
In anticipation of the concert, Beyoncé wrote on her Instagram stories, “This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the shows 8.23-9.22!”, as reported by The Telegraph.
The purpose of their outing was to celebrate Ragland’s 67th birthday, according to The Telegraph.
Beyoncé has long been supportive of the royal couple
Meghan has been a fan of Beyoncé’s music for years and even included her songs in her royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. Idris Elba, who DJ’d the wedding reception, revealed to Entertainment Tonight in 2019 that Beyoncé’s music was on the playlist.
It appears the admiration is mutual. In February 2019, Beyoncé and Jay-Z recorded their BRIT Award acceptance speech for best international group in front of a portrait of Meghan dressed as the Queen.
The two couples finally met in person at the London premiere of “The Lion King” in July 2019, two months after Harry and Meghan welcomed their first child, Archie.
At the time, during the red carpet walk, Beyoncé was heard complimenting the couple, as reported by The Daily Mail. Jay-Z also shared advice, saying, “The best advice I can give you is always find some time for yourself.”
Beyoncé and Meghan have maintained their friendship over the years, as evident from various online interactions. In the Netflix docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” Meghan mentioned that Beyoncé texted her after her and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
Meghan read out the text to Harry, which expressed Beyoncé’s desire for Meghan to feel safe and protected. She also conveyed her admiration for Meghan’s bravery and vulnerability, adding that she believes Meghan was chosen to break generational curses.
Representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not provided any comments on the matter.
