Plane Collides with Fence near Compton/Woodley Airport

An incredibly fortunate pilot managed to escape unscathed after their single-occupant aircraft crashed into a fence in a residential area near the Compton/Woodley Airport on Sunday afternoon.

The crash, which took place at around 1:50 p.m., only resulted in minor damage to property, with no injuries reported among those on the ground, according to Los Angeles Police Sgt. Mark Romero.

At the moment, there is limited information available regarding the pilot, the plane involved, and the precise location of the incident.

Efforts to gather additional information from the Compton Fire Department and the airport authorities were unsuccessful.

The Compton/Woodley Airport, located in southern Los Angeles County, provides flight training and personal aviation services.

In a previous incident in March 2019, a tragic collision between two small planes at the airport claimed the life of a flight student and left an instructor injured. (Source: Press-Telegram)
