Former intern from Bill Cosby’s sitcom levels new accusation of sexual assault against him

Bill Cosby is facing yet another lawsuit, this time from a woman named Jennifer Watling who alleges that she was sexually assaulted by Cosby while working as an intern on “The Cosby Show” back in 1984. In the lawsuit, Watling includes NBCUniversal Media, Kaufman Astoria Studios, Limited Partnership II, and The Carsey-Werner Company as co-defendants, claiming that these entities provided Cosby with the power and resources to commit the alleged abuse.

According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Watling describes how Cosby cultivated a “mentoring and fatherly relationship” with her during her time as an intern. She states that Cosby would regularly have her on set, invite her to attend meetings, and interact with other staff members at the studio. During one week of filming, Watling recalls Cosby having a male guest on set. After completing the taping for that week’s episode, a cast party was held where Watling expressed having a headache. Cosby then offered her what he said were two aspirin pills. Watling took the pills and later blacked out.

When she regained consciousness, Watling found herself lying on the couch in Cosby’s dressing room, with Cosby touching her breasts under her shirt without her consent. According to the documents, Watling was unable to give consent at the time due to her incapacitated state. Upon waking up once again, she discovered herself naked in the bed of an unknown male’s apartment. Watling physically felt as though she had been sexually violated while she was incapacitated.

The complaint suggests that Cosby, or others acting under his direction or permission, undressed and raped Watling without her consent while she was under the influence of the unknown substance Cosby provided her. Watling is seeking compensatory damages for both past and future medical expenses, as well as punitive damages determined by a jury.

This recent lawsuit adds to the growing list of women who have come forward with allegations of sexual assault against Cosby. Earlier this year, ten women spoke out about their own encounters with Cosby after statutes of limitations for sexual assault were lifted in California and Nevada. Cosby’s overturned conviction in 2021 has also led to multiple women filing similar legal actions. One notable case involves a woman who sued Cosby and won, claiming that he assaulted her at the age of 16 in 1975 at the Playboy Mansion.

Cosby’s initial conviction in 2018 made him the first high-profile figure to be found guilty in the #MeToo movement. He was found guilty of drugging and molesting Andrea Constand, an employee of Temple University. Cosby served over two years in prison before his release in October 2021, when the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction due to a pre-existing agreement between the prosecutor and Cosby’s predecessor. The U.S. Supreme Court declined to review the case in March 2022.

It is important to note that these allegations against Cosby should be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated. Our thoughts are with the victims and survivors of sexual assault.
