Travelers are currently spending a significant amount of money on airfares. However, Google has introduced a new tool that may assist in finding cheaper flights.
In addition to displaying whether current prices for your flight search are low, typical, or high compared to past averages for the same route, Google Flights can now inform you of the cheapest time to book trips.
Using its “reliable trend data,” this new search function provides insights on whether prices are inflated or discounted.
“For example, these insights could inform you that the cheapest time to book similar trips is usually two months before departure, and you are currently in that sweet spot,” Google explained in a blog post. “Or you might discover that prices have historically dropped closer to takeoff, so you may decide to wait before making a booking. Either way, you can make that decision with a greater sense of confidence.”
