Cleveland secures 5-2 victory against Jays, extending their losing streak to three.

In the series opener on Friday, Ramon Laureano led the Cleveland Guardians to a 5-2 victory against the Toronto Blue Jays, driving in three runs, including a two-run homer.

Canadian Bo Naylor also made a significant contribution by hitting a home run in his first at-bat at Rogers Centre. However, the Blue Jays suffered their third consecutive loss, with a final score of 5-2 and an audience of 40,755.

After George Springer’s lead-off homer in the second inning, giving the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead, Naylor tied the game with a one-out blast in the third inning. It landed in a similar spot as Springer’s in the Guardians bullpen.

In the fourth inning, Laureano hit a two-run shot to right-centre field, extending the Guardians’ lead to 4-1. This came after Oscar Gonzalez reached base on an infield hit.

Laureano continued to shine, increasing Cleveland’s lead to 4-1 with a double down the right-field line in the sixth inning, bringing Gonzalez home.
