The series finale of “Riverdale” provided a satisfying conclusion.
In this final episode, “Goodbye Riverdale,” Archie and the gang reunite for their last day of high school. Betty, portrayed by Michele Scarabelli at 86, stumbles upon an obituary for Jughead and shares her desire to relive their youthful adventures in Riverdale with her granddaughter Alice, who is the sole surviving friend. Little does Betty know, she will get the chance to revisit Riverdale in a dream with Jughead as her angelic guide.
Through her slumber accompanied by her high school yearbook, Betty awakens in a dream where she finds herself back in Riverdale. From her window, she spots Archie preparing to join a construction crew en route to California. In her childhood home, Betty reunites with her mother Alice and her sister Polly, who is now pregnant. Jughead surprises them by revealing that Alice became a pilot.
Betty takes a trip down memory lane by visiting Riverdale High, remarking on the youth, beauty, and carefree nature of the students. She muses on the fleeting nature of this special time, and how quickly it passes.
During her visit, Betty encounters Fangs, who signs her yearbook. Tragically, Fangs dies in a bus crash while on tour with his band.
Betty discovers that her friend Mary has formed a partnership with Brooke, and they remained together until the end.
Upon crossing paths with Veronica, Betty learns that her friend has become a successful owner of a Hollywood studio. Kevin and Clay are living together in Harlem,
