NFL Rookie Lands Sponsorship After Becoming Known for Mixing Mayo in His Coffee

NFL rookie quarterback, Will Levis, has gained attention and sparked discussion by sharing his unique habit of putting mayonnaise in his coffee. While many people reacted with disgust to his initial 2021 TikTok video and subsequent clips, Hellman’s, the brand of mayo that Levis used, has decided to reward him. They are offering him a lifetime supply of their condiment, which is the first of its kind in the company’s history, according to a report by Fox News. In a mock press conference video shared on Tuesday, Levis sits in front of a wall of mayonnaise jars, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity. “To come to this moment is a dream come true,” he says. “It’s not every day that someone offers to compensate you in mayonnaise.”

Levis goes on to thank his mom, who introduced him to Hellman’s mayonnaise and ignited his love for the condiment. He also acknowledges his school lunch lady, who always gave him extra mayo. In the video, he pours mayo into his coffee before taking a sip. In an interview with Fox, Levis explains that signing a lifetime contract with Hellman’s was an easy decision because he has been a loyal user of their mayonnaise his entire life. “It’s been a staple in my diet for as long as I can remember,” he says. However, he only started putting mayo in his coffee in 2021 on the suggestion of his girlfriend, as reported by USA Today.

“I’ve tried to change people’s opinions on mayonnaise if they have a negative one, and I’ve succeeded a few times,” Levis tells Fox. According to Fox Sports, Levis is the first athlete to sign a deal with Hellman’s parent company, Unilever, although they have previously signed deals with college athletes. Levis, who was a starter at the University of Kentucky, was selected in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft and will be competing against Malik Willis to be the backup quarterback for veteran Ryan Tannehill, as reported by KNTV. Levis has also secured endorsement deals with soda brand Ale-8-One and sportswear company No Bull, among other companies, according to Sporting News. (Read more endorsement stories.)
