In the episode, Hyland announced that contestant Keenan Anunay received the fewest votes and would be sent home. Gray, Anunay’s partner, volunteered to leave with him. This decision likely means they will forfeit the $100,000 prize for the winning couple.
During this moment, Stark questioned Hyland’s wording, calling it “mad disrespectful.” Hyland appeared shocked and asked if she was being disrespectful. Fellow contestant Leonardo Dionicio apologized to Hyland on Stark’s behalf, explaining that it was the heat of the moment. Hyland accepted the apology, saying “boys will be boys.”
Stark, Anunay, Gray, and three other contestants exited the show in the same episode. Hyland jokingly compared the situation to the “red wedding” episode of “Game of Thrones.”
