2 Passengers Missed Their Cruise, Left Frustrated and Yelling at the Ship

  • A captivating TikTok video captures the couple frantically shouting and waving, pleading for the ship to wait for them.
  • They were scheduled to embark on a fantastic nine-day cruise from Bari, Italy, as reported by MailOnline.

In an unfortunate turn of events, two passengers were left stranded at an Italian port when they arrived late, only to witness their cruise ship departing without them.

The couple had been eagerly anticipating a marvelous nine-day cruise on the MSC Splendida, exploring the wonders of the Mediterranean. Their journey was meant to commence from Bari, Italy, on August 15, according to reports from MailOnline.

A compelling TikTok video showcases the couple’s desperate attempts to catch the ship’s attention, waving their arms and pleading with the crew to wait for them. Alas, as the gangway had already been removed, the ship proceeded to set sail.

“Is the captain there, please?” the man implores in Italian. “Captain, please wait for us. If you wish, you can do it,” he adds.

Regrettably, their efforts proved futile.

“The cruise ship did not delay even a single minute. There seemed to be minimal effort, if any at all, to locate those individuals, whether they were present or not,” shared one passenger with MailOnline.

According to the guidelines outlined on the MSC Cruises website, “check-in closes two hours before the ship’s scheduled departure time for all embarkation ports.”

Ugo Patroni Griffi, the president of the Port System Authority of the southern Adriatic Sea, informed Italy’s La Repubblica newspaper that the couple “attempted to persuade the ship to turn back or at least suspend operations. However, for cruise ships bound by time constraints and significant financial operations, such requests are clearly impossible.”

Insider’s request for comment from MSC Cruises, submitted outside of regular working hours, did not receive an immediate response.
