The Los Angeles Police Department announced Friday evening that they have arrested a man suspected of being involved in the robberies of six taco vendors in less than a two-hour span.
The suspect, Stayshawn Stephens, was apprehended on Thursday and is now facing charges of robbery. He is being held on $1.3 million bail.
Police revealed that there were multiple suspects, all described as men in their mid-20s to early 30s wearing dark clothing. During each robbery, the suspects approached their victims, brandished a handgun, demanded money, and escaped in a white sedan.
The robberies took place between 9:40 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday in various locations including Hollywood, the Westlake district, Echo Park, and downtown Los Angeles.
The specific locations where the robberies occurred are as follows:
– Santa Monica Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood
– South Bixel Street and South Union Avenue in the Westlake district
– North Alvarado Street in Echo Park
– South Broadway in downtown Los Angeles
It is currently unclear if the suspects were involved in any other recent similar crimes.
