Everton holds discussions with Southampton for a potential £12m deal involving Ché Adams

Everton and Southampton are currently engaged in negotiations for a potential £12 million deal regarding the transfer of Scottish striker Ché Adams. Everton has been eyeing Adams as a solution to their long-standing striker issues since January, and they have finally made their move for the 27-year-old player. Russell Martin, the Southampton manager, acknowledges the possibility of losing Adams, who has impressed with two goals in two Championship games this season.

Martin states, “The outcome will depend on how close the bid matches our valuation of Ché as a club. I would prefer to retain him given the impact he has made in just two games. He is an excellent player with tremendous energy, so it would be disappointing to see him go.”

He further adds, “However, if Adams does depart, the club will only consider a sum of money that we find appropriate and sufficient to replace him. While certain players possess great value in terms of their character, we need to be prepared in case we lose him, which seems likely.”

Meanwhile, in other transfer news, Southampton has witnessed the departure of several players. Roméo Lavia has recently joined Chelsea in a transfer deal worth up to £58 million. Additionally, Tino Livramento has signed with Newcastle, and James Ward-Prowse has moved to West Ham, with each deal fetching Southampton at least £30 million.
