Browns and Eagles end in 18-18 tie after settling for a draw

The game between the Browns and Eagles ended in a tie at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday night, with a final score of 18-18.

Although the Browns entered the fourth quarter with a 15-10 lead, they couldn’t maintain it as the Eagles scored a touchdown with 6:16 remaining to even the score. The Browns had an opportunity to regain the lead with two minutes left, but unfortunately, K Cade York missed a 41-yard kick after successfully making his first three field goals of the night.

In an impressive start to his career, rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson played the entire first half of the game, displaying his toughness and ability to throw deep passes.

Thompson-Robinson threw a remarkable 36-yard pass to WR Cedric Tillman, as well as a 22-yard and 27-yard pass to WR Austin Watkins. Overall, Thompson-Robinson completed 13 out of 25 passes for a total of 164 yards.

Watkins contributed significantly to the Browns’ offense by catching a 32-yard touchdown pass and making an impressive one-handed catch for 23 yards from QB Kellen Mond. Watkins finished the game with seven receptions for an impressive 139 yards.

However, the highlight of the first half was the Browns’ defense. They scored the team’s first points for the second consecutive game, courtesy of LB Mohamoud Diabate, who tackled Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell for a loss of two yards, resulting in a safety. Diabate also forced a fumble from Eagles RB Trey Sermon, which was then recovered by Browns CB Cameron Mitchell.

S Ronnie Hickman continued his excellent performance with his third interception in two games, intercepting QB Marcus Mariota in the first quarter. However, Hickman had to leave the game during the second quarter due to concussion protocol.

The Browns’ defense dominated the game, delivering six sacks, forcing one fumble, and making one interception.

The Browns’ next game will be on Aug. 26, as they face the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
