The three Robinsons Malls in Quezon City have joined forces to show some extra love to our beloved furry family members. Back in 2015, the Robinsons Malls Happy Pets Club, a community of pet owners and enthusiasts, partnered with the Animal Care and Disease Control Division of the Quezon City Veterinary Department to kickstart the “Journey to Responsible Pet Ownership” initiative. This collaboration will take place at Robinsons Magnolia in New Manila, Robinsons Galleria in EDSA Ortigas, and Robinsons Novaliches.
For the past eight years, Robinsons Malls Happy Pets Club has been organizing free pet wellness consultations online during lockdowns and in-person after the malls reopened. The program aims to keep pets together with their human families while providing essential health and welfare resources. These resources include free pet vaccinations, free spaying/neutering services, and free veterinary advice and guidance. Additionally, the malls will serve as a venue for adopting rescue cats and dogs from Quezon City. Rey Del Napoles, DVM, Division Chief of Animal Care and Disease Control, Quezon City Veterinary Department, highlighted that by making QC Veterinary programs available in all RLC properties within QC, they hope that every fur parent will take advantage of their services alongside their mall experience with their pets.
The “Journey to Responsible Pet Ownership” program focuses on four pillars that have been part of Robinsons Malls Happy Pets Club’s CSR program for years. The first pillar, “Pet Bakuna,” involves an anti-rabies vaccination drive in all three Robinsons Malls in Quezon City. This drive is exclusively available to QC residents on weekdays. The second pillar is the “Free Pet Spay and Neuter” drive, which aims to reduce stray overpopulation and promote healthier lives for dogs and cats. Spaying eliminates the risk of uterine or ovarian cancer and reduces breast cancer incidents among female pets. Furthermore, spayed and neutered pets often exhibit fewer behavior and temperament problems.
The third pillar is the free “Pet Konsulta,” a monthly pet wellness consultation held in all three Robinsons Malls in Quezon City. Lastly, the fourth pillar, “Gift of Forever Home,” focuses on pet adoptions. This adoption activity aims to find permanent homes for rescued animals from the Quezon City Animal Care and Adoption Center. The adoption event is open to everyone, not just QC residents.
