Eric Braeden, beloved ‘Young and the Restless’ actor, joyfully announces he has successfully overcome cancer

Eric Braeden, the renowned actor known for his role as Victor Newman in the long-running CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” has recently announced that he has successfully overcome cancer. At 82 years old, Braeden shared the news of his diagnosis back in April, revealing that he had been dealing with prostate issues before undergoing immunotherapy. With a large following on social media, Braeden took to Facebook Live on August 13 to share the incredible update with his fans.

In the Facebook Live video, an optimistic and grateful Braeden announced, “I’m cancer-free. They couldn’t find the damn thing.” He expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the support and well wishes he received from his fans, acknowledging the positive impact they had on his journey. However, Braeden also mentioned that there are still a couple more medical procedures he needs to undergo before fully declaring victory over the disease. He mentioned undergoing a cystoscopy, a procedure involving a camera inserted into the bladder, which confirmed his cancer-free status. Additionally, he awaits the results of an MRI to ensure that the cancer hasn’t spread.

Despite the challenges he faced, Braeden’s outlook on life remains incredibly positive. He shared, “I love life, man. Why wouldn’t I? I’m working on the No.1 show. It has been No.1 for 38 years now. Why would I complain? That would be obscene.” Braeden, renowned not only for his role on “The Young and the Restless” but also for his appearances in notable films like “Titanic” and “Den of Thieves,” emphasized the profound impact his cancer battle had on his relationships with friends and loved ones.

Throughout his journey, Braeden’s health remained stable, and he maintained a positive mindset. In his initial video announcement in April, he mentioned feeling slightly under the weather but continued to work out and even continued his acting career on “The Young and the Restless” while undergoing six weeks of immunotherapy treatments. He expressed gratitude for being able to go to work, finding solace and fulfillment in his profession, and the joy of entertaining people.

Braeden’s determination and resilience shine through in his powerful statement, “This bastard ain’t going to get me. I’m going to get it. I’ll be in top form again soon.” His unwavering spirit and his ability to find strength in the face of adversity are truly inspiring. As his fans eagerly await his full recovery, it is clear that Eric Braeden’s unwavering passion for life and his craft will continue to be a shining example of positivity and perseverance.
